WHAT IS THE SEMA PAC?

A Political Action Committee (PAC) is a type of organization that pools campaign contributions from members and donates those funds to campaign for or against candidates, ballot initiatives, or legislation. PACs are created by corporations, trade associations, labor unions, and other organizations as a means to participate in the political process.

Associations, like SEMA, are prohibited from using their own funds to finance political activities, so the PAC acts like special fund. SEMA members can voluntarily contribute to this fund to support politicians or laws that understand and champion the interests of the automotive aftermarket. It's like saying, "Hey, we love our cars and this industry, and we want to make sure the rules and decisions made in politics are fair and supportive of us."

SEMA members face a diverse range of advocacy issues that impact the automotive aftermarket industry. These include challenges related to emissions regulations, the right to modify vehicles, and the preservation of consumer choice in vehicle purchases.
