WHAT IS A PAC?
A PAC is an organization that pools campaign contributions from members and donates those funds to campaigns for or against candidates, ballot initiatives, or legislation. PACs are formed by corporations, unions, trade associations, or other groups to support candidates who align with their interests.
HOW IS THIS DIFFERENT FROM SEMA?
While a trade association focuses on broader industry advocacy and support, a PAC specifically channels funds into political campaigns and lobbying efforts to influence legislation and regulation.
I’M A SEMA MEMBER, DOES THAT MEAN I AM ALREADY A PAC MEMBER?
SEMA membership and PAC memberships are separate. PAC members are those SEMA members who voluntarily contribute to the PAC to support politicians or laws that understand and champion the interests of the automotive aftermarket. PAC membership includes exclusive benefits at industry-specific events such as private dining and meeting space, invitation-only receptions, and VIP motorsports experiences.
WHO/WHAT DOES THE PAC SUPPORT?
SEMA members face a diverse range of advocacy issues that impact the automotive aftermarket industry. These include challenges related to emissions regulations, the right to modify vehicles, and the preservation of consumer choice in vehicle purchases.
